Privacy statement
We keep as little as we need to run Tussock Golf, we use it only for that, and we do not sell it or share it for advertising. This page says what we keep and why.
Organisers: what you tell us when you register
- Your full name, email address and address. So we know who is running the account, can email you the sign-in code and results, and can write to you. Your email address is confirmed with a 6-digit code.
- Optional details: a phone number, your golf club, what you will organise, how many players you usually have, how you heard about us, and why you signed up and what you hope for. These help us understand who uses the app and make it better. You can leave any of them blank.
- News and updates. We only send these if you tick the box. Without it you get only the emails the app needs to work: sign-in codes, results emails and a welcome email.
When someone registers, the people who run Tussock Golf are emailed what was entered, and it is kept in the Users screen that only they can see.
Everyone: what the app keeps
- Players: names, nicknames, clubs and handicap indexes entered by an organiser, scores, and an email address if the organiser gave one (used only to send that player their results).
- A log of what happens in the app (sign-ins, changes, errors) with IP addresses, so we can keep it secure and fix problems. It never contains passwords, PINs, sign-in codes or the text of feedback.
- Feedback you send from the feedback page: what you wrote and, if you gave them, your name and email address.
Photos and comments
Players who have an event's PIN can post photos and comments on that event's page. The name shown is the player's name (or nickname) in the event, and the photo or comment is kept with the event. Anyone who has the event's link can see them, and the organiser can remove any of them. A photo is shrunk in your browser before it is sent, and the pictures are kept in the same database as everything else. An organiser can also put photos on their own page. Posts are deleted when the event or the organiser is deleted.
The address search
When you type your address on the registration form, what you have typed so far is sent to a free address search service (Photon, which uses OpenStreetMap data) to suggest matching addresses. Your name and email address are not sent to it. Choosing a suggestion lets us mark your address as checked.
Paying for a plan
If you choose a paid plan, your payment is handled by Stripe on its own secure page: we never see or store your card details. Stripe holds what it needs to process and, where relevant, renew your payment, under its own privacy policy. We keep only your plan, when it started and ends, and (for an internet banking payment) the reference you were asked to use.
Where it is kept, and who can see it
Everything is kept on a secure server in New Zealand that we run ourselves, behind Cloudflare. It is not sold, and we do not share it with advertisers. An organiser can see the players in their own events. The administrators of Tussock Golf can see everything in the app, which is how we support people.
Your choices
You can ask to see what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted, at any time. Write to [email protected], or reply to any email we have sent you. Deleting an organiser's account removes the details they gave when they registered. If you would rather not get news and updates, tell us and we will stop.
Changes
If we change what we collect or why, we will update this page before we do it.
