Tussock Golf
Getting started

How to use Tussock Golf

There are two sides to it: the organiser who sets up the event, and the scorers in each group who enter the scores on the course. It takes a few minutes to set up and there is nothing to install.

What is an event?

An event is whatever you are scoring. It can have one round or many, and a few players or a whole club. For example:

  • A golf trip: a boys' or girls' golf trip, or a bunch of mates going away for a few days of social golf.
  • A club day or a multi-day event: one round or several, with as many competitions as you like.
  • A weekly group: such as a Mid Week Men's group. One event can track the weekly competitions all season, round by round.

For the organiser

Sign in at the organiser login. We email you a 6-digit code each time, so there is no password to remember.

  1. Create an event

Press New event, give it a name and a PIN (a 6-digit one is suggested), and add the start and end dates if you like. The event gets a six-character Event ID, shown on the Setup tab.

  2. Add your players

On the Players tab, add each golfer with their handicap index and club. The Club box lists the golf clubs we know, or you can type your own. Golfers you have added before can be picked again with Add from your players.

  3. Choose the competitions

On the Competitions tab press Add the standard four (Stableford, Net, Gross and Par), or build your own, including team competitions. Tick the ones you want players to see on their leaderboard.

  4. Add the rounds

On the Rounds tab pick the golf club (your players' clubs are listed first), the tees, the date and the first tee time. Then choose who plays: groups of up to four are made for you, and you can change them.

  5. Share the Event ID and PIN

Give the scorer in each group the Event ID and the PIN, by message or on the day. They are all they need.

  6. Open scoring and watch it live

Press Open scoring on the round when play starts. The Leaderboard tab updates as scores come in. You can correct any score yourself on the Scores tab, even after a round is locked.

  7. Lock the round and send the results

When everyone has finished, press Lock round, check the results, then Confirm results & email players. Each player is emailed their round with a link to the full results.

For the scorers

You need your phone, the Event ID and the PIN your organiser sent you.

  1. Sign in

On the home page, enter the Event ID and PIN, then choose your name. You can enter scores for your own group.

  2. Enter each hole's score

Tap + or − for each player: the first + puts in par and the first − a birdie, then each tap changes the score by one. The Stableford points show under the score. P is a pick up.

  3. Move around

Tap a hole number to jump to it, or use Prev and Next. A group can start on any hole: on the 18th, Go to #1 takes you round to the start.

  4. Match play if you like

Use Set up on the match play strip to play individual or pairs matches inside your group, scored by net, Stableford or gross, from whichever hole you started on.

  5. Check the cards and finalise

When everyone has a score on every hole, open the Scorecard and press Finalise card. After that only the organiser can change it.

Handy to know

  • Everyone can watch. The Leaderboard and Results tabs on the event page update by themselves, with running Gross and Net totals while rounds are being played.
  • Handicaps are done for you (World Handicap System): strokes are given hole by hole using each tee's rating and slope.
  • See the hole before you play it. Where the golf club has a hole guide, the hole's name, a few words on how it plays and a picture show under the scores. Tap the picture to make it bigger.
  • Mistakes are easy to fix. Scores save as you tap, and the organiser can edit any score.
  • Add it to your phone's home screen from the event page for one-tap access.
  • Every page has a Help button that explains the screen you are on.
